The Roux

The “Roux”

A cooked mixture of fat and flour used as a thickening agent in a soup or sauce.

The “Roux”

is a multiscale, headless, hollow body, 5 string bass based on my NL-8 model. The name is a little tongue and cheek, but I think it is important not to take yourself too seriously and it fits. A Roux is the foundation of most cream sauces and according to the internet, its purpose is to “provide a creaminess and density that helps incorporate other ingredients and generally binds things together into a cohesive finished product.” To me, that sounds a lot like what the bass guitar typically does for a great song.
